"I can't wait to start learning from Ruben Amorim" - Sesko keen to play for Man United
Benjamin Sesko has officially signed for Manchester United in a deal with RB Leipzig that could reach €85 million with add-ons.
The Slovenian international was also a target for Newcastle, but favoured a move to Manchester United.
What Sesko said
The 22-year-old Slovenian international expressed his excitement to the Red Devils' media team.
"Manchester United's history is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future. When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue growing and soon be competing for the biggest trophies again.
"From the moment I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and the family atmosphere that the club has created. It's clearly the perfect place for me to reach my full potential and achieve all my ambitions," he said, before surprisingly mentioning Ruben Amorim, via Abola.
"I can't wait to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and connecting with my teammates so we can achieve the success we all know we are capable of achieving together," he added.
The striker also shared a message on social media: "When you're little, you dream big. We imagine moments, stadiums, and jerseys that we one day hope will be ours too. Today, I fulfill that dream. Proud to be a Red Devil. Let's go, Manchester United!."
Newcastle were also interested in the forward, but his desire to join Manchester United proved decisive.
Sesko has scored 39 goals and provided 8 assists in 87 appearances since arriving in Germany from Salzburg in 2023. Last season, he netted 21 times for RB Leipzig.
