Kelechi Iheanacho’s career has hit turbulence in recent months, but former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is backing him to bounce back at Celtic.

After a difficult spell at Sevilla that ended with his contract being terminated, Iheanacho now has the chance to reignite his career in Scotland under Brendan Rodgers.

Hart confident in Iheanacho’s revival

Speaking to The Daily Record, Hart explained why he believes Iheanacho can rediscover his spark at Celtic.

“There’s a player in him,” Hart said, stressing that despite a tough year in Spain, the Nigerian striker still has the quality to thrive.

“My quality was there and I know the quality’s there with Kelechi. It’s just if he wants to be in the room, whether he wants to put it in,” Hart added

The ex-England international also pointed out the importance of Iheanacho’s relationship with Rodgers, who previously worked with him at Manchester City, noting that the trust and understanding between them could help the forward settle quickly.

Super Eagles recall in sight for Iheanacho

While Iheanacho was left out of Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, a consistent run of performances for Celtic could change his fortunes.

Hart believes that with commitment and focus, Iheanacho could find “a special home” in Glasgow and rebuild his confidence.

For the 27-year-old striker, this represents more than just a club move, as it could be the platform that propels him back into the Super Eagles squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

With Rodgers’ guidance and Hart’s backing, the stage is set for Iheanacho to prove his critics wrong and remind everyone of the talent that once made him one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking prospects.
