Plumptre has been a key player for the Super Falcons since she was called up into the national team.
After indicating her desire to play for the Nigeria women’s senior team in June 2021, Plumptre was called up for the first time the following month.
She has now spoken about representing the Super Falcons and insisted that she never had any goal.
Plumptre about Nigeria
Plumptre has been exceptional for the Super Falcons and she has said that it was an honour to represent Nigeria.
Plumptre said in an interview with The National, “Representing Nigeria is always a huge privilege but especially at a World Cup.
“Joining the team, it was never about trying to set particular goals but rather to take every camp as it came and to soak up what I was able to learn about the girls, my heritage and culture.”
The defender was one of the important players for Nigeria during the World Cup and played every single game.
Nigeria overcame the hosts and eventual semi-finalists, Australia, and advanced ahead of Olympic winners Canada.
She was part of the team that narrowly missed out on beating England in the first round of the knockout stages.
Plumptre hit the woodwork and assisted her team in maintaining a clean sheet during the game but were eliminated via penalty shootout.
