I only think about it — Gyokeres reveals motivation ahead of 'revenge' mission in the Premier leaguee
Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres is set for a dream move to the Premier League, and he is determined to succeed. The 27-year-old was on the books of Brighton from 2018 to 2021 but did not make an appearance in the Premier League.
What Gyokeres said
In an interview with L’Equipe, Gyokeres spoke about his motivations. While he is largely driven by the desire to score goals and win matches, the former Coventry striker is especially determined to thrive in the Premier League after failing last time.
“I only think about scoring and winning. It changes everything,” he said, per Fabrizio.
“Premier League? I spent several years there without being able to play a single match. So, of course, it's something I'd like to do. It would be great revenge!”
Gyokeres to Arsenal
As Pulse Sports reported, Gyokeres has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal for a five-year contract; however, the Gunners are yet to reach an agreement with Sporting.
The Portuguese side are insisting on a €70 million transfer fee plus another €10 million in add-ons. However, Arsenal's recently rejected bid was structured as €65 million guaranteed plus €15 million in add-ons.
Gyokeres is keen on joining Arsenal and has gone on strike to force the move. However, Sporting insist that they will not be pressured and will only sell for the right price.
