I sold pure water and newspaper at Ojota - Victor Osimhen shares his emotional trenches story

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has shared his grass-to-grace story of how he rose from being a nobody to an internationally celebrated football icon.

The Napoli talisman, who has scored five goals in seven matches so far this season, said he used to sell newspapers and sachet water (popularly known as pure water in local parlance) at Ojota market, Lagos, Nigeria.

Osimhen made this shocking revelation during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, adding that he did not know that he would one day become a household name in international football.

Osimhen, who is on the radar of top European giants like Chelsea and Manchester United, added that he even used to fetch water for his neighbours back then.

The 24-year-old, who recently was the subject of a TikTok saga with his Naples club, revealed that fame does not mean anything to him.

According to him, there are many famous people who don’t have money in their bank accounts. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a humble profile in life.

Victor Osimhen who grew up in Lagos narrated that he has a soft spot for the busy cosmopolitan city of Lagos. 

While opening up about his love for the city of Lagos, he revealed that likes coming to Nigeria’s centre of excellence any chance he gets. 

Osimhen says he enjoys the love, the vibes, the criticism, the laughter, and spending quality time with the people he loves.  

The prolific striker will be in action later today when Napoli takes on Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A clash at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
