Nigerian-Spanish striker Samu Omorodion, has opened up about the emotional turmoil he faced after a potential move to Chelsea fell through.

In a candid interview with Marca, Omorodion revealed the devastating impact of the Blues' last-minute decision, which led him to question his future in football.

Omorodion faces period of uncertainty at Atletico Madrid

Omorodion was close to a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, however the Blues decided against the move at the last moment.

Following Chelsea's decision to pull the plug on the transfer, Omorodion was left in limbo at Atletico Madrid. He was forced to train separately from the team, feeling isolated and disconnected.

"At Atletico, I spent many nights crying," Omorodion confessed. "My family also struggled, and the experience was incredibly tough.

"No one spoke to me, and I didn’t speak to anyone. I already knew the club’s stance."

Omorodion moves on from Chelsea disappointment

Despite the disappointment that nearly forced him to reconsider his football career, Omorodion's story has taken a turn for the better with his move to Portugal.

After eventually sealing a move to Porto, the striker has rediscovered his scoring form in spectacular fashion.
