New Napoli winger Noa Lang has vowed to bring flair, energy, and entertainment to Serie A, declaring that adapting to life in Italy “won’t be a problem” under the demanding eye of new head coach Antonio Conte.
Lang, who joined from PSV Eindhoven, is one of several high-profile summer signings for the 2022/23 Serie A champions, alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, all lured in by Conte’s reputation for discipline and winning mentality.
What Lang said
Speaking to Radio CRC, the Dutch international revealed his passion for intensity and his excitement to evolve in Naples as part of Conte’s ambitious project.
For Lang, the move to Napoli represents more than just a career step; it’s a leap into a new footballing culture.
“Working with Conte is great. I like stepping out of my comfort zone. In the Netherlands, the intensity was lower. This kind of work is exactly what you need to become a better, more complete, and stronger player,” Lang explained.
Lang arrives in Italy off the back of an impressive campaign with PSV, where he tallied 11 goals and 10 assists in 29 Eredivisie matches during the 2024/25 season.
He also delivered on the continental stage, contributing two goals and two assists in the UEFA Champions League, including a decisive assist in the comeback win against Juventus in the Round of 16.
“I want everyone to enjoy themselves when I have the ball. I want to create lots of chances and make it fun to watch me and the team play. That’s my goal,” Lang said.
Lang is still regaining full match sharpness and made his first Napoli appearance in a 2-0 pre-season loss to Serie C side Arezzo. He played the opening 45 minutes and conceded the penalty that led to Arezzo’s opener.
“I’m a bit tired, but that’s normal for pre-season. I think training is going really well, I’m adapting. We created lots of chances, we just didn’t score,” Lang said.
He added, “That’s what happens when a winger defends! It can happen. I want to help make games easier for my teammates. When I have the ball, I want the fans to feel something is about to happen.”
Napoli are looking to bounce back from a turbulent season and reclaim their place at the top of Italian and European football.
