The Blues made a last-ditch move for the Super Eagles striker on the England transfer deadline day.

However, they failed to agree a deal with the 2023 African Best Player, leading to a failed negotiation between both parties.

“I was involved in trying to make sure that I get Victor to Chelsea, yeah, a lot happened, it was very interesting, because I think I hear a lot of people saying this and saying that about Victor and how greedy he is and stuff like that. Blah, blah blah.

Chelsea reportedly made Osimhen six or seven different offers as they attempted to reach an agreement with him right up until the very end of the transfer window.

While the Blues made it apparent they weren't willing to alter their compensation structure in order to accommodate the Nigerian, Osimhen made it very clear he wasn't willing to back down from his demands.

The failed transfer led to Osimhen moving to Turkish side for Galatasaray on a loan deal a few days later.

Meanwhile, Osimhen scored his first goal of the season in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Benin Republic on Saturday.
