Neuer blames Donnarumma

Speaking in the mixed zone at Atlanta's Mercedes Benz Arena, via Sportal, Manuel Neuer argued that Donnarumma hadn't approached the situation safely.

"He didn't need to go in like that. It's risky. He accepted the possibility of injuring his opponent."

The veteran goalkeeper's criticism extended to Donnarumma's behavior after the incident. "I went to him and asked, 'Why didn't you check on our player? Out of respect, it's the right thing to do, to wish him well.' And he did."

"Sportsmanship is part of the game. I would have reacted differently," insisted a disappointed Neuer, having witnessed another serious injury to Musiala.
