'If Juventus can't match your demands, stay at Galatasaray' - Super Eagles legend appeals to Osimhen
The Nigerian forward was initially linked with a move to Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, but Juventus recently came in and made a bid, which Napoli rejected, holding firm on their valuation of Osimhen.
Osimhen appears poised to remain with Galatasaray as the Turkish champions work to finalise a deal with Napoli. Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Istanbul club, leaving the transfer fee as the final hurdle.
The striker shone during his loan spell at Galatasaray, leading them to a Turkish Super Lig and Cup double. His impressive 37 goals across all competitions made him a fan favourite.
Adepoju's advice to Osimhen
With other potential suitors withdrawing, Galatasaray has emerged as the frontrunner to secure Osimhen's services permanently.
Former Super Eagles midfielder and 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner Mutiu Adepoju offered his perspective on Osimhen's future. He suggested that if Juventus can't meet Napoli's asking price, the 26-year-old should stay in Turkey.
"I would have loved to see him move to Juventus," Adepoju told Footy-Africa. "But if they can't match his salary and Napoli's transfer fee, he should stay at Galatasaray. He's done well there, winning the league. If Juventus can't meet Napoli's demands, he should rejoin Galatasaray."
Adepoju highlighted Osimhen's popularity in Istanbul, emphasising the fans' adoration and eagerness for his return.
"The fans love him, and he's had a successful year there. I think he should continue there and build on that success," he added. "He's a good player, and Galatasaray would love to have him back. Once an agreement is reached, he should rejoin them."
As the transfer window progresses, the combination of Galatasaray's ambition and Osimhen's prolific form could make him one of the biggest signings of the Turkish season.
