Global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the scoresheet for Al-Nassr as they beat Al-Tai to keep pressure on Al-Ittihad in the race to be crowned champions of the Saudi Professional League.
The Faris Najd are now only three points behind the league leaders thanks to Ighalo's Al-Hilal who held Al-Numoor to a draw.
Ronaldo scores in Al-Nassr win
Nassr went away to Al-Tai as they looked to return to winning ways after drawing against Al-Khaleej last time out.
The visitors dominated the first-half but could not find the back of the net. However, they managed the hosts' transitions well, keeping the first 45 minutes scoreless.
The second-half, however, took a different tone. Ronaldo changed his team's fortunes in the 52nd minute of the game. The referee awarded a penalty, and the Portugal international made no mistake in firing past Victor Braga.
The goal spurred Al-Nassr on, and they intensified their attacks. Anderson Talisca made it two in the 80th minute, sealing a crucial victory for Faris Najd.
Ighalo's Al-Hilal hold the league leaders
The prolific Nigerian did not manage to find the back of the net, but he played the full 90 minutes as his team staged a comeback against Al-Ittihad.
Musab Fahd Aljuwayr and Michael's strikes in the second-half for the hosts cancelled out Igor Coronado and Ahmed Bamasud's first-half attempts.
Al-Ittihad's slip-up reduces their margin of error with three games left to play.
