‘I’m extremely confident in their full recovery’ - Atalanta manager looking up to Lookman returning to full fitness
The 27-year-old has struggled for consistent playing time at the Bergamo club this season, despite being a regular starter for Nigeria's Super Eagles.
He was recently integrated back into the team after tendering a transfer request to leave the club in the summer window.
Lookman has played just 137 minutes out of a possible 720 for Atalanta across all competitions this season.
Juric speaks on Lookman
Since Lookman's return to Italy last week, Juric has been closely observing the forward's condition in training.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Lazio match, the Croatian coach indicated that both Lookman and his teammate Charles De Ketelaere were showing positive signs of recovery.
"We need to become more clinical in front of goal and I see improvements in that regard. Sulemana, too," Juric stated, as reported by Sportal Italia.
"It will also be important to understand the conditions of Lookman and De Ketelaere after recent training sessions. In any case, I’m extremely confident in their full recovery."
Atalanta remains one of only two unbeaten teams in Serie A this season, along with Juventus and are 6th on the table.
They will be looking up to Lookman to help them climb up the table in the next few weeks in a bid to challenge for the title.
