Nicolas Jackson has finally sealed his loan move to Bayern Munich after a dramatic transfer saga that nearly collapsed at the final moment.

The 24-year-old striker admitted the process was tough but insists he is relieved to have landed at the club he truly wanted.

Transfer chaos and tough moments

Jackson’s switch from Chelsea to Bayern was anything but smooth. Initially, the Blues had sanctioned the deal in the final week of the summer window, with Bayern agreeing to pay around £14 million for the season-long loan.

However, injuries to Liam Delap and Cole Palmer forced Chelsea to abruptly call off the move, recalling Jackson to London and throwing his future into doubt.

The Senegalese forward described those days as “tough” and “difficult,” with the uncertainty testing his confidence. Still, Jackson maintained he was determined to push through and secure his place at Bayern.

“I was very confident I will stay here [in Bavaria] because this is where I want to play and want to be,” he said.

In the end, fresh negotiations between the two clubs got the deal over the line, leaving the striker relieved. “It was very tough but in the end we got it, so I’m very glad,” he added.

Chelsea move on without Jackson

Chelsea must now adapt without Jackson, who struggled to find form during a difficult 2024-25 campaign.

Manager Enzo Maresca has strengthened his forward line with João Pedro and Liam Delap, though injuries have already complicated his plans.

Without Jackson, the Blues travel to Brentford for a tricky west London derby, sitting second in the Premier League after three matches.

Pundits, including Paul Merson, have warned that Chelsea could find it difficult to break down Brentford, but optimism remains after recent victories against Fulham and West Ham.

For Jackson, however, the focus is on a fresh start in Germany, where he hopes to rediscover his scoring touch at the Allianz Arena.
