Injury prone, too expensive: Chelsea end Victor Osimhen chase to leave door open for Arsenal
Over the past few months, Chelsea have been heavily linked with Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The 25-year-old has been one of the hottest properties in European football in the past year and a half, and an exit from Napoli is expected this summer.
However, it appears a transfer away from Serie A is not as certain as it was weeks ago.
Chelsea back out of Osimhen race
Last week, PSG reportedly cooled their interest in the Nigerian striker, despite losing Kylian Mbappe to Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Now, it appears Chelse have also backed out of the race, citing injury issues, style of play and the huge release clause, reported to be around 130 million Euros.
According to Simon Johnson of the Athletic, the Blues' new boss Enzo Maresca wants to focus on other targets, with Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko rumoured to be a strong option.

This could open the door for Arsenal to have a clear run at Osimhen, but whether the Gunners will be willing to pay the release clause remains to be seen.
Could we see Osimhen at Napoli next season, under new boss Antonio Conte? Never say never.
