Manager Ruben Amorim has placed Sancho in the ‘bomb squad’ this summer, alongside players like Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Marcus Rashford. United have already managed to loan out Rashford to Barcelona, but they are finding it difficult to shift the rest.

Sancho joined Manchester United for £73m in 2021, arriving with a stellar reputation as a standout Bundesliga talent and England international. However, the 25-year-old has been underwhelming.

His tenure hit a low with a public clash with former boss Erik ten Hag, leading to a loan spell at Chelsea last season. He had hoped for a permanent Chelsea move, but the club refused to pay a £5m fee to return him to Old Trafford.

According to Football Italia, Roma have joined the race, holding ‘active contact’ with Sancho and United. Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is a keen admirer, eager to bring him on board.

Meanwhile, Turkish side Besiktas has emerged as another option. President Serdal Adali, speaking to Turkiye Today, said, “Just as much as the community wants him, I want him too. What matters is not only our desire, but also if the player wants to come to Turkey.”

United will also push to place Garnacho, wanted by Chelsea, and Antony, keen on rejoining Real Betis, where he thrived on loan.
