Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has spoken candidly about the hurt associated with getting relegated from the Premier League.
The Foxes won the PL title in 2016 against all odds, as well as the FA Cup in 2021 defeated West Ham 2-1 on the final day but it was not enough to halt their slide down into the second tier.
Maddison full of regrets for failed season
Maddison reflecting on the season, said in an Instagram post:
“Absolutely devastated to be relegated from the Premier League. I’ve taken a bit of time to reflect on the outcome of the season and to be honest, it doesn’t make it any easier at all.
“This will hurt for a very long time and probably stick with us all forever. But that’s life & it’s about how you bounce back from setbacks & failure and unfortunately, that’s exactly what this season was.. a failure.
Maddison has just one year left on his Leicester City contract and Arsenal have been strongly linked, as well as Newcastle who also have Champions League football to offer.
