“It’s an opportunity for me to elevate my career and contribute even more to my team. I planted a seed, and God has been nurturing it; it’s still flourishing,” she added.
Asinde was a pivotal player for the Miners last season, registering 11 double-doubles and averaging nearly double figures in 21 games, which included eight games where she scored 20 or more points.
A notable highlight from her last season was against Tulsa, where she delivered a stellar double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Additionally, she recorded a season-high 19 rebounds in a game against Montana.
Before joining UTEP in April 2023, the former JKL Lady Dolphins forward demonstrated her prowess at Wichita State, where she also delivered top-tier performances, starting in 53 of the 60 games during her two-year tenure there.
Asinde was a crucial component of the Gazelles team that secured 7th place at the 2023 Afrobasket tournament in Kigali.
Despite being hampered by two injuries, she still delivered impressive performances, significantly aiding Alberto Antuna’s side.
Uganda clinched three victories against Senegal, DR. Congo, and Guinea in a historic first for the showpiece.
