Jollof brothers Arokodare and Paintsil rescue Genk in thrilling 6-goal clash
Nigerian forward, Toluwalase Arokodare, and his Ghanaian counterpart, Joseph Paintsil, were the heroes as Genk came from three goals down to rescue a point at home.
Arokodare and Paintsil scored two late goals to earn Genk a 3-3 draw against St. Truiden in Belgium on Sunday afternoon.
Arokodare and Paintsil show
A blistering first-half performance from the visitors led by Aboubakary Koita saw Truiden look untouchable away from home.
Koita netted a remarkable six-minute hat-trick to give the visitors a dream and comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
However, Genk came out smoking in the second half, with their African stars putting on a show to inspire an impressive fightback.
Morocco’s Bilal El Khannous kicked off the comeback when he pulled one goal back for Genk just before the hour mark.
11 minutes later, Arokodare, who came on just before the start of the second 45, made his presence felt when he made it 3-2.
The comeback was completed when another African star, this time, Ghana’s Paintsil, fired the equaliser for Genk five minutes from time to ensure a share of the spoils.
