Josh Okogie: Nigerian NBA star reflects on 6th year with the Phoenix Suns

Josh Okogie, a basketball player from Nigeria, was previously selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the 20th overall choice in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Prior to the 2022–2023 season, Okogie moved to Phoenix following four seasons with the Wolves.

His ability to be an impact player made his signing well-received.

Another year when Okogie strengthened the story about his powers was 2023–2024.

He was a person who, this past off-season, re-signed with the Suns.

For the 2023–24 season, Okogie went back to Phoenix, but the Suns managed to incorporate all of their summer additions into their lineups and plans.

In eight of his first eighteen games of the season, Okogie started in place of an ailing Bradley Beal.

While on the court, he had a positive attitude and impact on the team, but his production was not quantifiable using normal measurements.

He participated in 54 of the Suns' first 60 games this season, averaging 4.9 points on 41.7/29.7/74.0 splits.

With 17 points in the season's first game versus the Golden State Warriors, it was his highest-scoring performance to date.

During the 2023–24 season, Okogie scored more than 10 points 12 times in 59 games.
