Toni Kroos has indirectly used Eden Hazard as an example to warn Real Madrid new signing Jude Bellingham to not be carried away with the €103m price tag.

Toni Kroos has reacted to Jude Bellingham joining Real Madrid for a hefty fee of €103 million from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The England midfielder is the latest inclusion into Los Blancos after signing a six-year contract that will see through the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2029.

However, Kroos has indirectly used Eden Hazard’s career as a note of warning to the newly signed 19-year-old midfielder.

Hazard, who was Chelsea’s player of the year four times in his seven-year spell, joined the Galacticos in the summer of 2019 for €115m and had nothing to show for it.

The Belgian had his contract terminated despite having a year left on his deal due to his injury hit spell at the Bernabeu.

While Speaking on Eichan mal Luppen podcast Kroos warned:

“€103 transfer fee? We had another player who came for a lot of money and basically let his career die.

“It was a lot of money, I think everyone would say that wasn't a good transfer. But let's be positive.”
