Kamaru Usman: Nigerian Nightmare celebrates as Florida Panthers beat Edmonton Oilers to win NHL Stanley Cup
The Florida Panthers have won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history.
In the Stanley Cup Final, Florida defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in a thrilling 2-1 Game 7 victory on Monday night. The Oilers overcame a 3-0 series hole to draw the series at 3-3, and the victory prevented a historic collapse.
On Monday night, Florida's defense rebounded from giving up 18 goals in back-to-back losses in Games 4-6.
Sergei Bobrovsky, the goalie, played a brilliant game, turning away 23 of 24 Edmonton shots, including a late burst of Oilers shots that threatened to tie the game.

Naturally, St-Pierre, a Canadian, will support the Edmonton Oilers. Usman, a regular attendee of Amerant Bank Arena, will support the Florida Panthers in the interim.
After the game, Usman took to social media to celebrate the Panthers' victory.
Along with photos was a message that said, "We came and took care of business.
"Panthers in 7 #letsgo @nhl @flapanthers @pound4pound."
Usman is now expected to return to the octagon for UFC welterweight showdown against Shavkat Rokhmonov.
