Kenya Sets New Date for World Championship Trials
Athletics Kenya has officially announced a change in dates for the national trials to select Team Kenya for the upcoming World Athletics Championships set to take place in Tokyo later this year.
Initially scheduled for early August, the trials will now be held on Tuesday, July 22, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.
The change, according to the federation, was necessitated by the unavailability of the stadium on the previously scheduled dates of August 1-2.
Athletes and stakeholders have been urged to adjust their training and logistical plans accordingly to align with the new trial schedule.

Bib Collection and Invitation-Only Format
As part of the revised arrangements, bib collection will take place a day earlier on Monday, July 21, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
AK emphasized that participation will be by invitation only, and a list of the selected athletes will be released soon.
Further details regarding invitation criteria, selection process, and qualifying standards for Tokyo 2025 will also be communicated in due course by the federation.
Preparation Key as Kenya Eyes Global Glory
The trials will be a critical platform for Kenya’s elite athletes to earn a place at the prestigious Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships.
With the country traditionally strong in middle- and long-distance races, a competitive lineup is expected once the final list of invitees is published.
Among the names expected to lineup for Kenya at in at the September Championships include Ferdinand Omanyala, Beatrice Chebet, Faith Kipyegon, Emmanuel Wanyonyi among many other.
