"The NBA wants to come to Europe, and if that happens, serious attention must be paid to the arena. We won't share ownership with anyone.

"We have to keep in mind the possibility of a change in competition, so the new arena will, just in case, meet NBA standards," Laporta stated, via Sportal.

In this way, the Barcelona president effectively confirmed once again that the Barcelona basketball club is not against the idea. He then revealed the current stage of negotiations between Barca and the NBA.

"Talks have progressed quite a bit. I can't reveal the final structure; there are several options. There's also an agreement with the EuroLeague.
