LeBron James watches on as Bronny scores 1st Lakers point against Timberwolves
The most notable play of the Los Angeles Lakers preseason opening against the Minessotta Timberwolves at Acrisure Arena came from Bronny James, as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, and Julius Randle all rested.
In front of a nearly sold-out crowd, the rookie Lakers player—son of LeBron—played his first minutes in the NBA during the Lakers' 124-107 loss to Minnesota.
When Bronny entered the game in the second quarter, he received a warm reception.
Bronny showed some life after a sluggish start that featured a turnover and a disputed airball. This blocked shot immediately resulted in his assist on a 3-pointer.
The crowd, eager to see his first bucket, groaned after each of his first five failed shots.
The loudest cheer of the evening was heard in the last second of the game as Bronny drove to the hoop and made a contested layup with his left hand.
Bronny finished with two points on 1-of-6 shooting, three blocks, an assist, a rebound, and a turnover in his 16 minutes of action.

JJ Redick, the rookie coach, had nothing but praise for his popular rookie.
While Bronny's debut was noteworthy, Dalton Knecht, another rookie for the Lakers who was selected in the first round out of Tennessee, was more impressive because he was accustomed to the fast-paced nature of the NBA.
