Lionel Messi breaks Ronaldo's record as PSG claim Ligue 1 title

Paris Saint-Germain confirmed their record 11th Ligue 1 title at Stade de la Meinau, with Messi scoring a record-breaking goal and a valiant Strasbourg side finding an equaliser to take some shine off the evening.

PSG finally conjured a moment of magic before the hour mark, as Mbappé worked enough space to slide the ball across for Messi to clinically finish for his 16th league goal of the season.

Strasbourg fought hard and their efforts paid dividends in the 79th minute, when Morgan Sanson’s original effort was saved, and former PSG frontman Kevin Gameiro bundled home the rebound.

Despite failing to win, PSG wrapped up the Ligue 1 title to delight the traveling support.
