Lionel Messi fails to deliver as Inter Miami drop crucial points against Nashville

Lionel Messi was unable to lift his Inter Miami side to victory against Nashville as both sides had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Messi had two promising free-kick opportunities that he failed to convert and the team in general looked less frequent than in recent games.

Inter Miami will consider this to be two points lost instead of a point gained, as they look to make a late-season playoff push. 

The Messi-led Inter Miami need to move up from 14th to 9th place to make the playoffs.

Miami had won its previous nine matches as Messi's addition gave the team an immediate boost. He has scored 10 goals, including three multi-goal performances.
