The game started with Liverpool trying to push for the first goal but to no avail. They found it hard to create chances but eventually opened the scoring through a counter-attack.

Just a few minutes before the final whistle was blown the Reds went up 2-0 Diogo Jota was sent through on goal and slotted in a low shot past the goalkeeper.
