Man. City sack employee for wearing United shirt on Derby day

Ruben Amorim's side were thrashed by Pep Guardiola's team 3-0 in the 4th round of the Premier League.

Phil Foden opened the scoring for the host with his first goal of the season and Erling Haaland's brace completed the damage on Amorim's side.

The defeat puts more pressure on the Man United boss, who has secured only one win this season and are 14th on the league table.

Before the Derby game, as reported by Sportal, a Man City staff member was seen putting on a Man United jersey.

The @Mataniels account on X (formerly Twitter) reported the incident, posting a photograph of the worker in question and writing: "What a joke that Manchester City let one of the bar staff in block 315 wear a United shirt on derby day."

Manchester City responded to that same post, confirming the dismissal: "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We can confirm that this individual has since been removed from their role."
