Manchester City are reportedly set to make a late move for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae.

According to Football Insider, Bayern Munich remain in pole position to land the South Korean stopper but Man City have made a last minute check as they seek to add a new centre-back for next season.

Kim has a release clause, believed to be worth around £50million, which will become active in July and that could prove a bargain for a defender of his quality. 

The 26-year-old established himself as one of Europe’s finest defenders with his performances as Napoli lifted the Serie A title last season.

Man City are looking for defensive reinforcements with Aymeric Laporte and Kyle Walker expected to depart this summer. Pep Guardiola is also targeting RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, although that could prove a very tough deal to conclude.
