Manchester City star snubs teammate Rodri, picks best player to win Ballon d'Or

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has thrown his support behind Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior for this year's Ballon d'Or, surprisingly snubbing his teammate Rodri.

Both players have had incredible seasons, pushing them to the forefront as top contenders.

Vinicius Junior led Real Madrid to La Liga and Champions League glory, while Rodri played a crucial role in Manchester City's Premier League win and Spain's EURO 2024 triumph.

Speaking on TNT Sports Brazil, Ederson revealed a strong loyalty to his Brazilian compatriot.

"I am rooting for Vini Jr. to win the Ballon d'Or. I hope he wins it."

Ederson's national pride takes precedence over club allegiance, backing Vinicius Junior to end Brazil's 17-year Ballon d'Or drought.

The last Brazilian to claim the award was Kaka in 2007.
