Manchester City vs Inter: Cityzens legend wary of Nerazzurri fire power
Manchester CIty legend Sergio Aguero has warned his side to beware of Inter’s firepower ahead of the UEFA Champions League final between the sides, having played with two of the Nerazzurri’s current forward options.
Aguero wary of former partners in crime
Aguero and Inter forward Edin Dzeko teamed up while the Bosnian was still with Manchester City and the pair enjoyed a few great years together, helping the Cityzens to their first Premier League title in 2012.
The former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid man also played with Lautaro Martinez in the Argentine national team before his forced retirement due to a heart condition, and believes that these two forwards along with Belgian Romelu Lukaku, will pose a severe problem for his former side in the final.
Speaking with Stake.com, Aguero said, “Inter have great forwards. We are talking about Edin Dzeko, but we must talk about Lautaro Martinez, who, having overcome his physical problems after the World Cup, has been key for the Italian club, and if we add Romelu Lukaku, we see the power they have.”
Aguero pinpoints Lukaku and Dzeko danger
Aguero was keen to point out the individual of each of the players pointing out Lukaku’s physical presence and ability to link up play while honouring his former teammate Dzeko
“Lukaku brings a lot of physical play, holds the ball very well, and in addition to being a goalscorer, he posts up to leave his teammates to define. In short, one of the best firepowers in Europe,” Aguero said.
On Dzeko, the former Argentina international said, “Today he is still that dangerous player who can score at any time. No wonder he had such a good season at Inter. He always demands, he is very important in the passing game. Surely he will be one of those that City have to be especially careful of.”
