Manchester United goalkeeper Onana sets unwanted Premier League record after conceding 200 shots
Cameroonian star Andre Onana has made history at Manchester United after becoming the first goalkeeper in the club's illustrious history to face 200 shots in a single Premier League season.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Onana and United were made to dig deep in their final game of the season at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Onana set PL record at Manchester United
The Cameroonian shot-stopper, who joined the Red Devils from Inter Milan last summer, has endured a mixed debut campaign at Old Trafford.
Despite United's 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in their final home game of the season, Onana was unable to keep a clean sheet, conceding the club's 58th goal of the league campaign.
The 27-year-old, who has now made the most saves in the PL (147), made five saves in the match, but his last clean sheet came all the way back on March 9, in a 2-0 win against Everton.
Onana's first season at United has been a rollercoaster, with the goalkeeper facing a staggering 200 shots - the most of any United keeper in a single Premier League season.

The former Ajax man will no doubt be looking to bounce back next season, as Erik ten Hag's side aim to mount a stronger challenge for the title.
With Onana's shot-stopping abilities under the microscope, the pressure will be on the goalkeeper to shore up United's leaky defence after a horror 2023/24 campaign.
