Manchester United: Red Devils end disgraceful Champions League campaign with unwanted record
Manchester United’s 2023/24 European campaign has come to an end after they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the group stage, as confirmed by their loss to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
Manchester United dumped out of Europe by Bayern Munich
The Red Devils finished bottom of Group A behind Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray, respectively, bringing to an end one of their most shameful Champions League campaigns in recent history.
The entire UCL journey so far has been arduous for Manchester United, and many fans of the club would have been happy to see it finally end, despite not getting to play in any European competition until at least the 2024/25 season.

One of the major problems that the Red Devils had during the 2023/24 UCL group stage was conceding goals, and they ended up letting in more goals than any other team in Group A.
Manchester United set disgraceful UCL record
Indeed, only Belgian Minnows Royal Antwerp conceded as many as the Red Devils’ 15 goals in the entire UCL group stage, emphasising the difficulty which Manchester United had in stopping their opponents from finding the back of the net.
Manchester United’s 15 goals conceded also set a new record for Premier League teams in the Champions League, as the Red Devils became the first team from England to let in that many goals in a single season of UCL football.

The Red Devils do not have the distraction of the Europa League to placate their group-stage exit after finishing bottom of their UCL group for only the second time in their history and will have to take a long hard look at their season and ask difficult questions about the state of their team.
