Matchday 2 duties for Rivers United, Lobi Stars and others rearranged in Group B
Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Rivers United and the other clubs in Group B of the abridged season have had their matches rearranged.
The Interim Management Committee, IMC, has rescheduled some of the games for matchday two in the NPFL.
Champions Rivers United confirmed through their social media account the new date for their game against Akure side, Sunshine Stars.
According to the Pride of Rivers, that game has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday at the Akure Sports Complex.
United kicked off their season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Lobi Stars last time in Port Harcourt while Sunshine Stars snatched a late draw in Gombe against newly promoted Doma United.
Niger Tornadoes, Doma United also get new date
The game between defending champions Rivers United and Sunshine Stars was not the only game rescheduled in the group.
Niger Tornadoes have also confirmed that the battle between them and Doma United initially also slated for Wednesday will now be played on Thursday.
Both sides will go head-to-head for the first time at Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Doma were denied all three points the last time at home and will be looking for their first win in the NPFL when they face host Tornadoes, who defeated Wikki Tourist in their season opener in Bauchi.
Lobi Stars vs Rangers
Another game that has reportedly been rearranged is the game of the round in Group B between Lobi Stars and Rangers.
Both giants are scheduled to lock horns on Wednesday evening at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State but according to reports, that game has also been moved to Thursday.
These two will be looking to bounce back to winning ways following their respective defeat the last time. Lobi suffered a late defeat in Port Harcourt while the Flying Antelopes failed to fly at their adopted home in Akwa against neighbours Abia Warriors.
