Mauricio Pochettino outlines plans for these two players ahead of Chelsea confirmation
Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly plans to make Mason Mount one of his most important players and a leader of Chelsea's revolution despite uncertainty surrounding the midfielder's future at Stamford Bridge.
Mount's Chelsea future under Pochettino
Mount has been the subject of transfer speculation since the contract impasse with Chelsea was first revealed.
The 24-year-old has rejected several contract offers from the Blues and his current deal expires next June.
If an agreement cannot be reached, Chelsea will have no choice but to seriously consider offloading the English midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and London rivals Arsenal all tipped to make a move.
More on the situation
According to the Daily Mail, Pochettino is a huge admirer of Mount's playmaking ability and work ethic. As with a number of current Chelsea players, the Argentine coach believes the 24-year-old would fit perfectly into his planned system.
The Argentine tactician also wants the club to offer a contract extension to combative midfielder N'Golo Kante whose contract expires this summer.
