Mbappe and team not convinced by Madrid’s offer

Kylian Mbappe's future continues to be a hot topic in the football world. As the clock ticks down on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, speculation mounts over a potential blockbuster move to Real Madrid. 

Despite being in a similar situation nearly two years ago, when he ultimately decided to stay with PSG, the rumour mill is in full swing once again. With just over four months left on his current deal, Mbappe is at a crossroads, able to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs outside France.

As Real Madrid re-enters the fray, hoping to secure the services of the 2018 World Cup winner, reports suggest Mbappe has yet to be swayed by an offer that tempts him away from PSG. 

The Athletic reveals that despite Real's readiness to make him the squad's top earner, the proposed terms still fall short of his previous deal. This has led to scepticism within Mbappe's camp about whether now is the right time to leap at the chance to join the Spanish giants.

PSG, on the other hand, is reportedly laying out a more enticing financial package than what Real Madrid has tabled. Florentino Perez, Real Madrid's president, believes he has made an all-out effort to lure Mbappe away from Paris, signalling a seven-year itch at PSG that might finally see a resolution. ]

However, PSG seems unfazed, confident yet cautious, understanding Mbappe's inclination to explore his options since last summer.

La Liga's head honcho, Javier Tebas, has thrown his two cents into the conversation, suggesting that Real Madrid's prudent spending and increased salary cap for the 2024-25 season make it more likely than not that Mbappe will don the white of Madrid. 

Meanwhile, under Carlo Ancelotti's stewardship, Real Madrid is tightening its grip on the La Liga title, recently extending its lead with a decisive victory over Girona.
