Mikel Arteta says time will tell Havertz's best position in Arsenal
Kai Havertz completed his £65 million move from Chelsea to Arsenal this summer, becoming the Gunners' first signing.
In Thursday's 1-1 preseason draw between Arsenal and Nuremberg, the German forward made his debut as a substitute for the Gunners
After the game, Arteta spoke about Havertz's best position in his team and said the midfielder needs time.
Arteta speaks on Havertz position
Arteta gave an insight into Havertz's position in the team and said that he will need time to blend into the team.
Speaking after the game against Nuremberg, as reported by BBC, Arteta said, "We have to see how he adapts and obviously get to know each other and build relationships. Football is about that and time will tell where he fits in best."
Mikel Arteta did not give much away about Havertz's role in the squad but said he needs time to adapt.
Meanwhile, At the Max Morlock Stadium, Bukayo Saka scored the game's first goal in the seventh minute, but Jorginho's unusual 35-yard own goal gave the Bundesliga opponents the lead back.
Havertz feels welcomed in the team
Kai Havertz was asked how it has been for him with his new teammates and how the atmosphere around the players.
During a postmatch chat, Havertz said, “100%, the boys are brilliant- It’s a young group and from the first minute, I felt very welcome.
“I’m very happy and it’s nice being with the group and especially with these boys, you know they achieved some things last year. I hope we can all improve together and win something this year.”
Havertz is happy to be among this crop of players Arsenal have at their disposal and he hopes he can win something together this year.
