Boniface picked up a groin injury in Super Eagles training camp and will reportedly be out of action for up to three months

Boniface's absence is a huge blow to Nigeria as many had anticipated a deadly strike partnership with Victor Osimhen in Jose Peseiro's 4-4-2.
The Bayer Leverkusen man will now undergo treatment in Germany in hopes of a swift recovery.

Moffi's initial exclusion was a huge surprise, with many questioning the inclusion of skipper Ahmed Musa instead.
