Maduka Okoye has been the subject of criticism since Nigeria's exit from the 2021 AFCON.

Okoye, capped 16 times for the Nigerian national team, currently plays his football in Serie A with Udinese after a tough spell at Watford, where he scrapped for game time.

He has yet to play a game for The Little Zebras in the league this season, serving as a mere deputy to first-choice Marco Silvestri.
