Montpellier vs Reims: No show for Nigeria's Akor Adams as club suffers humiliation
Nigeria’s striker Akor Adams had a quiet outing as Montpellier struggled at home to Reims.
Adams fired blanks for the first time this season in a four-goal thriller against the visitors.
Reims came, saw and conquered Adams and Montpellier 3-1 at the Stade de la Mosson on Sunday afternoon.
Reims halt Adams
The young forward has had a blistering start to life at Montpellier after he joined the club this summer.
Adams sat at the top of the scorer’s chart after hitting three goals in his two matches for Montpellier.
However, at home to Reims, the visitors proved too good as they caged the Nigerian striker for 90 minutes.
Adams attempted four shots during the game but was unable to test the away goalkeeper for the duration of the match.
Reims revenge
Reims came to de la Mosson hoping to avenge the defeat they suffered at home the last time both teams met.
Inspired by Teddy Teuma, the visitors achieved their aim with a similar result.
Teuma scored two of the goals and assisted the opener as Reims gave Montpellier a taste of their poison with their fans watching.
Two of Reims’ goals were scored in the first half which ended 2-1 in their favour before man of the match, Teddy, wrapped up proceedings in the second half.
