Naija Super 8: N100k, gifts fall on Bendel Insurance wonder goal boy Ini-Obong

Bendel Insurance’s second goal against Rivers United at the Naija Super 8 Playoffs has been named as the best of the tournament.

The goal was scored by super-sub Okon Ini-Obong who came off the bench to give Insurance hope in the five-goal thriller.

Ini-Obong’s goal completed a remarkable comeback as the Benin Arsenal equalised 2-2 in the final game of the Playoffs at the Eket Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom.

In what was a game that would decide the final qualifier for the Naija Super 8 grand finale slated for Lagos next month, Iniobong came off the bench to steal the show.

With United leading 2-1 thanks to an Albert Korvah brace in either half, the Insurance superstar unleashed an unstoppable volley from 30 yards.

The goal left Super Eagles goalkeeper Victor Sochima rooted to the spot in the highly explosive clash.

Ini-Obong has now been rewarded for his stunning effort, with the youngster set to receive a cash gift of N100,000 and balls.

He is also expected to join Super Eagles star Victor Ikpeba for the main draw on Thursday as a special guest.
