Inter suffered a shock loss to Bologna who currently lie 7th in Serie A with hopes of breaking into the European spots for next season.

Inter were let down by Samir Handanovic whose mistake in goal opened the door for Riccardo Orsolini to score a late goal to give Bologna all three points at the Renato Dall'Ara.

How it happened

Inter still had faint hopes of causing a Serie A upset when they travelled to Bologna, with a chance to cut the lead to only 15 points, but ultimately threw away the opportunity to keep up as Bologna overpowered them 1-0.

In a first half dominated by the home team, Bologna were proactive and thought they had taken the lead when Gambian Musa Barrow had the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review where it was determined that Nicolás Domínguez had interfered in the goal from an offside position.

Inter had few sightings of a goal in the first half, and Lautaro Martinez headed their best chance wide five minutes to half-time.
