NBA Playoffs: Jaylen Brown wins Larry Bird ECF Trophy as Boston Celtics sweep Indiana Pacers, advance to Finals
With a 105-102 triumph, the Boston Celtics dispatched the Indiana Pacers in one of the most contested sweeps you'll ever witness, winning the Eastern Conference Finals in four games.
Jaylen Brown defeated Jayson Tatum on a five-to-four vote margin to win the Larry Bird Trophy as the series MVP.
With an average of 29.8 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game throughout the series, the 27-year-old was outstanding.
A day after being rejected for All-NBA honors, he scored forty points in Game 2, and his game-winning three-pointer in Game 1 forced overtime, which the Celtics eventually won.
Although Brown is frequently regarded as Jayson Tatum's Robin to Batman, the two had more of a split billing in this series.
With an average of 30.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists, Tatum would have been a strong candidate for the Larry Bird Trophy on his own.

Together, the two players proved to be much too strong for the Pacers and every other team they have faced in the playoffs to overcome.
To be sure, the Celtics' route to the NBA Finals has been rather straightforward; they have eliminated the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Pacers in a total of 14 games.
While Kristaps Porziņģis hasn't played since the opening round, Celtics supporters will soon point out that all three teams were suffering with serious ailments during those meetings.
But Tatum and Brown continue to bear the primary responsibility for Boston's title aspirations.
