NBA Playoffs: Luka Doncic drains step back 3 as Mavericks take 2-0 lead against Timberwolves
Luka Dončić led the Dallas Mavericks to victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-108 and a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals with three seconds left in the game. He finished with a triple-double.
The Mavericks overcame a 16-point hole halfway through the third quarter thanks to Doncic's ninth triple-double in 42 career playoff games with 32 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds.
The Mavericks aim to take a commanding 3-0 lead when the series moves to Dallas on Sunday night after winning two games away from home.
Naz Reid finished with 23 points and seven 3-pointers, but his final attempt at the buzzer rimmed out as the Timberwolves' key players, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, had yet another poor performance.
Towns scored 15 points on 4 of 16 from the field, while Edwards scored 21 points on 5 of 17 shots.
Not until halfway through the third quarter did Jaden McDaniels, who had scored twenty points or more in each of Minnesota's last three games, make a basket.
32 points.

Thirteen of Kyrie Irving's twenty points came in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer with sixty-five seconds remaining.
With 13 seconds remaining, Edwards threw the ball carelessly out of bounds on a drive, resulting in Minnesota's final turnover.
After receiving the inbounds ball, Doncic dribbled to put Dereck Lively II in position to screen, which caused the Wolves to make a switch.
Doncic was covered by Rudy Gobert, but the Mavs star made the three-pointer, flexed his arms, and roared at the incredulous audience as his teammates surrounded him.
