This comes after the Magpies recorded a massive victory against Benfica in the midweek Champions League match. Fulham will travel with the hope of shaking off the disappointment of losing to Arsenal at home in their last fixture.

Newcastle is having a decent run in the Champions League with two wins in three matches. However, this cannot be said with their performance in the premier league as Eddie Howe's side has only been able to gather 9 points from 8 matches so far.

The Newcastle manager will hope his team can maintain midweek form when they welcome Fulham, who themselves are also struggling in the league.

The situation is even worse for the Cottagers as they have been on a losing streak. They have lost three matches in a row now, and travelling away from home will make it even harder.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is still faced with injury concerns, which have made his team have a slow start into the season. A win in this fixture will see his side overtake Newcastle on the table.

Newcastle vs Fulham head-to-head

Newcastle have won 7 of their last 10 games against Fulham (1D, 2L), with the Cottagers hammered the home side home and away last season.

Fans are usually entertained when these two sides are playing because at least one side must score a goal. The last time they played goalless was in 2018.

Newcastle vs Fulham team news

Marco Silva congratulates Alex Iwobi for his display against Brentford.

Since Eddie Howe has no fresh cases of injury, he will likely stick to the same players he used against Benfica. The only possible change is starting H. Barnes, who scored twice in that match, coming from the bench.

Fulham's manager has more to worry about as he has a significant number of players still out injured. Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze and Brazilian Rodrigo Muniz are also sidelined with no known date for their return yet.

Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Bassey are available and will be used by Marco Silva in this fixture. Jimenez will be up front leading the attack for the visitors.
