The La Liga giants had previously courted Kante when his Chelsea contract expired in 2023, but he opted for a lucrative move to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia instead.

However, Kante's impressive display at Euro 2024 has put him back on the radar of top European clubs, including Barcelona.

The 33-year-old's performances have sparked a renewed interest in his services, with West Ham United even attempting to lure him back to England, an approach that has since been rejected.

Now, Barcelona have joined the chase, eyeing N'Golo Kante as a "low-cost target" and exploring the possibility of a loan deal.

While Al Ittihad has made it clear that they value Kante highly and are unwilling to let him go cheaply, the player could be swayed by the prospect of playing for a club of Barcelona's status.

Meanwhile the Blaugrana are still pushing for number one target Nico Williams. The Athletic Bilbao is the club's first choice target and a transfer is reportedly close.
