Nigeria 2-0 South Africa: Flamingos cruise past Bantwana to final round of World Cup qualifier
Nigeria's U-17 national girls' football team known as the Flamingos are a step away from their World Cup target.
After a comfortable 2-0 win against South Africa's Bantwana at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday, Nigeria's Flamingos secured their spot in the final qualifying round for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

With a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Pretoria last weekend, Nigeria qualified with an aggregate score of 5-1.
The Flamingos could not translate their dominance into a goal until the 37th minute when Harmony Chidi scored to break the deadlock.
It was Chidi's third goal in the qualifying series as they headed into halftime.
After the break, Aishat Animashaun doubled the Flamingos' lead 11 minutes later to secure the victory,
The team led by Bankole Olowookere will meet the winner of the Botswana-Algeria match in the final round.
The winner secures a spot at the U-17 Women’s World Cup, which Morocco will host later this year.
