Head coach of the Zimbabwe Warriors Michael Nees has praised the conditions in Uyo, Nigeria, as his team gears up for a vital 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles.
The match, scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, is a make-or-break moment for Zimbabwe, who are bottim of their World Cup qualifying group.

Speaking during a training session in Uyo, the 57-year-old German coach expressed his contentment with the setup.
In a post by the Zimbabwe Football Association on X, Nees was pleased with the arrangements since his team touched down in Nigeria.

He said, “I’m happy with the conditions here.
“We also need something like this at home.”
Nees, who took the helm of the Warriors in July 2024, is no stranger to challenging assignments.
Acknowledging the Super Eagles’ reputation he believes his squad can deliver a performance as the last meeting ended in a 1-1 draw with Francis Uzoho getting criticized.
With an approval of the conditions in Nigeria setting a positive tone, the Warriors are poised to take on the Super Eagles in what will be a closely contested affair.
