Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles and NFL star Tyreek Hill finally agreed to race each other last month with the showdown set to be witnessed in the spring or summer.

Lyles and Hill have been taunting each other since he won his 100m gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with the Miami Dolphins wide receiver claiming he is way faster than the sprinter.

Hill went ahead to challenge Lyles to a race but the decorated sprinter termed him an attention-seeker before rebuffing his requests.

However, as time went by, Lyles changed his stance and in early February 2025, they agreed to end the debate by racing each other.

However, one crucial detail about the race was not provided then and Lyles has now opened up over the distance in which the two will be contesting.

“We did a lot of articles but they never told the distance and it will be a 60m,” Lyles told athletics content creator Tiara Williams, the host of Real Talk With Tee.

“It will be a track race, there will be blocks, reaction time and there will be FAT (Fully automatic time) times.

“This is not a 40-yard hand off the pad thing, no, this is legit. This is track and field style. I hope you guys enjoy the season because I want to ensure it is amazing.”

Hill had initially asked Lyles to face him in a 40m race but the world 100m champion refused, saying the showdown will only be held on his terms and the distance will have to be standard.

Lyles seems to have won that battle as the two sprinters now prepare for the 60m which is a distance the sprinter has contested a number of times in indoor races.
