Just before the transfer window slammed shut, United finalized another eye-catching deal for goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who arrived from Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

Fans were left stunned by photos from the signing ceremony.

This wasn't due to the new acquisition, but rather the man standing beside the Belgian goalkeeper.

However, it appeared as though former manager Erik ten Hag had re-signed with the Premier League club.

After his disastrous results, supporters are not keen on his return.

The individual bore a striking resemblance to Erik ten Hag, the former United manager who was sacked by Bayer Leverkusen on Monday, after just three matches in charge.

"God please, not that man again," social media users exclaimed in Lammen's comments on Instagram.

"My heart stopped for a moment," one user wrote.

Another comment read: "Scared me for a second, thought it was Ten Hag."

However, anxious supporters can breathe a sigh of relief; it was, in fact, Lammens' agent.

"I genuinely thought it was Ten Hag for a second," one worried fan commented.

Ten Hag managed Manchester United from 2022 to 2024.

In his first season, he led the club to a League Cup victory, followed by an FA Cup triumph the next year.

This decision has yielded little improvement, as his successor, Ruben Amorim, is also facing significant challenges.

The Dutchman has since been sacked by his new club, Bayer Leverkusen.

According to German media, there was a perceived lack of emotion and confidence in Ten Hag.

The manager himself quickly issued a statement after his dismissal.

"I started this job with full conviction and energy, but unfortunately, the board was unwilling to give me the time and trust I needed, and I deeply regret that. I feel this was never a relationship based on mutual trust," he stated firmly.
